But don't worry, it's really not going to take more than a few minutes, and I'll get you some ice cream when we're done. Most species of Staphylococcus (such as S. epidermidis) are harmless; most strains of E. coli (with the notable exception of O157) are harmless. --Prooffreader (talk) 09:13, 26 December 2012 (UTC) Testing is the safety harness for your code. They are not magical, and they will not prevent you from missing bugs you did not anticipate. They do however automate the boring chore of making sure various edge cases and special conditions do not blow up your code. As such they help to catch bugs you could have totally anticipated, but did not bother checking for because of reasons

Because of this, it can be thought of as unit testing for servers. Various assertions can be provided in code, and the framework contains helpers for common operations. It's by no means a substitute for other kinds of tests (application unit tests, integration tests, end-to-end tests), but rather aims to provide an early warning against. Testing for a new bot... Davidy22[talk] 08:23, 24 December 2012 (UTC) The advantage of this approach is that you will have an easier unit testing task. Unlike what is suggested by the previous answer, I think it is better to instantiate IntVar() inside the function where your program actually needs it, I mean inside the function which creates and configures the Tkinter.Entry() widget After nearly 20 years of experience in software testing, I've seen a great deal of test tooling, and more than a few failures. Short-term success is common, even if you know how to choose the right test automation tools for each role in your organization (According to the World Quality Report, just 14-18 percent of organizations have even the most basic test automation tools in place)
