For most Dota players, the game outcome is inevitable when one team gets megacreeps. But if a team has the heroes for it, then they can manage a little bit. The game was a 2 hour slog, and IG.V managed against megacreeps for almost an hour of it. TNC vs. Infamous, Game 2
A game filled with really uncharacteristic mistakes from iG, which allowed for an amazing VP comeback. There was so much at stake in this match, as loss would mean VP would have to go into tiebreakers against OG to secure the winners bracket start. If you want some EE-level buffoonery, but from the whole iG team at the same time, look no further..be/lAJ2WBok0QE Event: The International 2017 It's important to keep in mind that the meta changes with the switch from groupstage to playoffs. Picks become less diverse, fights become less aggressive, and games last longer, typically. Risky pocket strats are less likely to happen, but surprise pocket strats will come out. Nobody wanted to release their good strategies while at the same time trying their best to feel out the playstyles of other teams.Only three heroes have a contest rate of 80%+: Nyx Assassin, Night Stalker and Batrider. All three heroes have been banned more than they were actually played and it is understandable. Nyx Assassin is incredibly strong and a flexible pick, which serves as a hard counter to many popular heroes. Night Stalker is both annoying and scary to play against, especially in a pro-environment, where vision becomes even more important and finding a good initiation angle can make up for the biggest of economic deficits. Finally, Batrider is simply the most iconic TI hero: he has always been a comfort pick during big tournaments and no amount of nerfs can break his incredibly powerful design.

FATA walked out of Puck's Aghanim's, upgraded Coil a few times, at the end of its duration. The team altogether couldn't contain Nando's AM, who ran rampant after a late, 20 minute Battlefury. The International 2017 was the seventh iteration of Dota 2's flagship annual championship. Hosted by Valve Corporation, it took place at the KeyArena Center in Seattle, Washington. The tournament began on 22 June 2017 with the Open Qualifiers and closed on 12 August 2017 with the Grand Final, where fan favorites Team Liquid defeated 2014 champions Newbee 3-0, becoming the first team to perform. The International, Dota 2's biggest competitive event (as well as esports' most moneyed), returns to Seattle this week. This is the culmination of Dota's year-long season schedule - all of it, all the Majors, third-party tournaments and rosters shuffles, have led to this 18-way showdown where over $23 million is up for grabs Amidst the rumors of Cloud 9 dropping their The International 2017 roster and the team splitting up, CEO Jack Etienne confirmed the organization has parted ways with former Team NP. Silencer and Void are slightly different. Their win rate is not low enough to safely assume their weakness, but they do have a very common issue — their most impactful spells have very long cooldowns. To top it off, the former can be easily dealt with in the late and even mid game — there are many core and support items which offer some form of protection against silences. Chronosphere, while great, is still hard to use at maximum efficiency. It doesn’t work particularly well with melee cores on the team either, heavily restricting the amount of situations where it is actually useful. And with Faceless Void frequently being an offlane pick, it is rare to see him have enough farm to kill targets inside the Chrono himself. This year however, they get to go straight into the group stage. The first CIS only qualifier for The International gave a lot more teams a good shot at making it, but it was TI regular Team. Welcome folks! The results from the group stages of The International,2017 are out. Lets take a look at the Winners bracket first. All three are flexible utility/nuke heroes who can initiate, counter-initiate and provide catch for the team. It is worth noting, however, that their popularity comes not only from their strength in the meta, but also from how safe it is to pick them in the first phase.
Group B is up next, with one of the best matchups early on in the day. Newbee vs. LGD.Forever Young. Two teams who, so far, far exceeds expectations and sitting in second and first place respectively. This one will be a nail baiter as LGD.Forever Young really showed up the first two days. They haven't lost a map yet and are sitting on a perfect 10-0 record. Newbee is their first real big test, as they have only played smaller teams until now. If they manage to defeat Newbee, the sky is really the limit for LGD.Forever Young. On the other hand is Newbee who has two victories and two ties under their belt. Still a good record, especially as they have faced the favorites before. Prediction: Both teams win a map. Result: 1:1.. By eggs on Aug 23, 2017 00:20 UTC. During the main event he was the 19th most contested hero and was further down the list during the group stage. His potency in the meta was realized later at TI, and even more in the hands of Team Liquid, who had a 11-0 record with the hero across both the group stage and the main. My guess is that Void will be largely ignored now, Spec will get a game or two, and AM will be banned a lot more as he is a huge comfort pick. The TI 7 betting odds for the groupstage have arrived simultaneously with the release of the lineups from group A and B. Sven has a slightly different approach to kiting: he simply leaves no one to kite him after the initiation. The hero farms incredibly fast, deals tons of damage and has a natural way of dealing with all illusion heroes. In the ultra-late game he might not be able to hold his ground against some harder carries, but his window of opportunity is pretty wide: he can become the dominant force in the game pretty early and retain his position for a very long time. Nyx Assassin, Lycan and Sven were the most successful heroes of the tournament so far, with 30+ games each and 79.49%, 64.71% and 62.50% win rates respectively.

The latter proved to be very inconsistent during the group stage, but they also managed to win games off OG, iG and VP, all of which are by all means top tier teams. However, the game will be hard for the SEA squad, especially given that midone is a SEA representative himself and will not be easily startled by the region’s typical ultra-aggressive playstyle.

Also another highlight of the day is the rematch of the Kiev Major grand finals, OG vs. Virtus.pro. In Kiev, these teams absolutely duked it out and it took the series all five games to find a winner in OG. Now, it is Virtus.pro's chance for revenge. They are both sitting on the same record in the group stage, winning 3 maps and losing one. It will be interesting to see how much their playstyle differs in comparison to Kiev and if Virtus.pro can finally handle OG's late game decision making.

LFY on the other hand seems to have found their form and have been cruising through their four games on day 1. Another EG game, this time against an opponent from the east: the Chinese team iG Vitality. They are the small sisterteam of big brothers Invictus Gaming, but this expression does not really fit in the recent times. Vitality has been looking to step out of their shadow for a long time. They managed to qualify themselves by going through the grueling Chinese qualifiers, most likely the hardest qualifiers in the world of Dota 2. If they manage to keep this form, they are a secret favorite for the win of TI7. But before all that can go down, they have to show their prowess against EG in their first big test of TI 7. Prediction: EG wins both maps. Result: 2:0. MinD_ControL was the offlane player for Team Liquid at TI 2017, earning a gold per minute of 446. Raging-_-Potato was the offlane player for Execration at TI 2017, earning a gold per minute of 448 during the tournament. However, Team Liquid averaged 2,111 gold per minute as a team at the event, while Execration averaged a gold per minute of 1910 . The Chinese teams both sit on top and unbeaten in their respective groups. LFY especcially seems better than previous ly thought. They are going up against Invictus Gaming, who only had one matchup yesterday which they tied against Newbee, another Chinese team. So IG will be eager to climb the ranks in group B. It will be an interesting matchup between a Chinese giant and one, who aims of becoming one. Prediction: Both teams win a map. Result: 1:1. After the addition of W33ha and a great run at Epicenter Major everyone expected Team Liquid to do very well at The International 2019. Very shocking even for themselves, TI 2017 winners ended the group stage with four loses, two ties and only two victories. It allowed them to finish in 7th place, which mean they had to start their play-off run in lower bracket. Once everyone lost faith in.

I cant understand this bcs he recks my pub often (3.8k scrub). The night already ends here, with the last game of group B. OG vs LGD.Forever Young is definitely a highlight of day 4, as this game could very well be played as the grand finals of TI7. LGD.Forever Young surprised us all in this group stage so far. Their record of 13 – 1 speaks for itself and their first place is already secured. They have suffered their only defeat thus far at the hands of EG, who managed to win a map against the Chinese team. So they will be able to go into this matchup very relaxed and bring out a new strategy in preparation for the TI7 main event. OG on the other hand, the 4 times Major champions, have to win this game to have a chance of finishing in the upper bracket spots. So they will come into this game guns blazing and giving their hardest to win this game. On paper LFY is the clear favorite here, with how this tournament has been going. But OG has shown an immense cohesion while playing, so this game might be closer than you expect. Prediction: Both teams win a map. Result: 1:1. Betting Odds Group Stage TI7. The group stages of TI7 are starting with a top game. The titan hailing from the USA are going up against the Southeast Asian wonder team. Many fans think EG have a good chance at winning TI7 and their recent form seems to support this theory. Ever since the Dota 2 eSport scene started growing, EG seems to have been a top team. This is true for this years The International 2017. Their lineup looks incredibly strong on paper and their starplayer in SumaiL can decide games singlehandedly. Back then they've been lead by the USA player DeMoN, and this year they have another foreigner as captian: the Canadian 1437. It will be interesting to see if TNC can find the form from last year, especcially since their first game going up against EG is an incredibly hard one. Prediction: EG wins both maps. Result: 2:0. The next matchups is Team Liquid versus TNC Pro Team. Team Liquid is first in group A with a record of 8-2. They seem to have found their stride and TI7 might just end up be Team Liquid's tournament to take. They have looked incredibly coordinated and practiced. TNC on the other hand is also found in the upper half of the table and are looking to make a dent in Team Liquid's run. TNC also looked quite strong, both in drafting and playstyle. OG versus Invictus Gaming is another repeat of a grand finale, this time of DAC 2017. Invictus Gaming managed to win then, as they looked incredibly dominant in that tournament. But those times are past and OG is surely looking for revenge. Both teams fell a bit short of their expectations, as they are both favorites for TI7. OG even more so. OG is sitting in the upper half of the table, and this game is very important in cementing their position. Invictus Gaming on the other hand is looking to break into the table spots that means they will advance directly to the upper bracket of the TI7 main event, a huge advantage for any team. Prediction: OG wins both maps. Result: 2:0.Lycan is a very safe core pick with high potential for taking objectives. He is also one of the few melee heroes who are almost impossible to kite and his win rate is a direct result of this. And while he might not farm exceptionally fast and his abilities are not as amazing DPS-wise in the late game, he still has a slot advantage over most carries, since he doesn’t really need boots in the late game and can simply carry BoTs in his backpack.
