Vizio has released several lines of television models onto the market, but the P-Series Quantum 65-Inch is the best balance between form and function with a price point that is easier on the wallet than other 4K UHD models. It uses Vizio's QuantumColor technology to deliver up to 115 percent more colors than their standard 4K TVs for deeper saturation and lifelike images Trouble with Vizio P Series (2018) HDR Hello, just bought a 55'' Vizio P Series tv on Sunday, and I'm having issues when the HDR is enabled. Sometimes it would work for 5 minutes and my screen would start to flicker, or the tv would tell me there's no signal. I doubt it's the cable because it's brand new and it meets the requirements for HDR

Surrounding the display are thin, black bezels, including a black border beneath the edge-to-edge glass of the panel. We hate to end on a down note, but we’d be remiss if we didn’t mention that the P65-F1 offers some of the worst sound we’ve heard in a modern TV. Tinny, distorting sound is the norm, and we honestly couldn’t get through even an hour of testing without swapping in our KEF LS50 Wireless speakers. If you don’t already own one, do yourself a favor and pick up a soundbar with your purchase — heck, some box stores bundle them for free these days. Certainly consider a Vizio soundbar if you do, though, as the company makes high-value soundbars just as well as it does TVs.This a good TV for use as a PC monitor. It has very low input lag and you will be pleased with the TVs reaction time. The response time is very low and you will not notice any blur. However, if you sit too close to the TV the edges might look a little dim and colors might be off due to poor viewing angles.

The Vizio P Series 2018 is significantly better than the Samsung NU7100. The Vizio P Series 2018 has a local dimming feature to enhance dark room performance. The Vizio can display vivid colors thanks to the wide color gamut and has a faster response time that leaves only a small blur trail behind fast-moving objects. The Samsung NU7100, on the other hand, has better gray uniformity and a lower input lag, which is great for video games.

Vizio P Series 2018 Review (P55-F1, P65-F1, P75-F1

The P-Series does away with the generic looks of previous Vizios and takes more risk. The bottom edge is a relatively bright silver and the matching, super thin legs have a fetching, rounded look that reminds me of the Samsung Q8 -- a lofty comparison. Overall, however, the TCL 6 series is simply better than the P. Between the two, panel design is a toss-up while the remote and smart TV menus are a solid win for TCL, thanks to its Roku TV system. In my direct picture quality comparisons, the P-Series lost more points than it won against the TCL, especially with cutting-edge HDR video. The two were close enough, however, that some viewers, particularly those who value a true 120Hz panel and the superior video processing that goes with it, will prefer the P at 55- and 65 inches (the 75-inch TCL has a 120Hz panel). Introducing VIZIO's best picture ever. The VIZIO P-Series® Quantum 65 (64.50 Diag.) 4K HDR Smart TV delivers cinematic quantum-dot colors, our deepest blacks and brightest brights for a captivating contrast Wide Color Gamut (WCG), which Vizio calls Ultra Color Spectrum, is the finishing touch, providing some of the best color reproduction we’ve seen yet from Vizio. WCG is available with or without engaging the Full UHD Color option in the Input Settings, but if you want to display 4K HDR content with higher frame rates (e.g. streaming and gaming content), you’ll want to engage it in the menu. Speaking of gaming, the menu also offers a new Game Low Latency option, allowing you to decrease lag while still choosing your preferred picture setting.

The remote control is lightweight with small buttons. There are 6 button shortcuts for Vudu, Netflix, Amazon Video, Xumo, Crackle and iHeart radio. The Vizio P Series 2018 is a bit better than the Samsung Q6FN. The Vizio P Series 2018 has full array local dimming and better dark room performance. The Vizio can also handle reflections better, and the image looks a little crisper due to the faster response time. The Samsung Q6FN has better gaming features, including lower input lag (even with motion interpolation) and supports FreeSync VRR for tear-free gaming. Shop for vizio p series 55 inch tv at Best Buy. Find low everyday prices and buy online for delivery or in-store pick-u The Vizio P Series Quantum is better than the Vizio P Series 2018. The Quantum has better bright room performance, as it's much brighter and has a better reflective coating that reduces glare. The Quantum also has more saturated colors, with a wider color gamut and better color volume. Motion performance and input lag are nearly identical between the two models, as are smart features.Update 05/17/2019: There is an issue with firmware version 2.1.7.1. When on HDMI 5 with 'Game Mode' enabled, there is no sound. Our model did not see this update automatically, so it is possible that it is either a gradual roll-out, or that Vizio has stopped rolling it out. If you are prompted to update to 2.1.7.1, we recommend against installing it.

Vizio's P-Series Quantum is something special. It's hands-down Vizio's best TV ever, and one of the best-performing LCD TVs I've ever tested from any brand. It's only available in a 65-inch size. The 2018 P series motion interpolation is excellent. The TV can interpolate both 30fps content and 60fps content up to 120 Hz. To do that, you must set the Reduce judder to interpolate 30Hz content, and set the Reduce Motion Blur to interpolate 60Hz content. The Vizio P-Series 65-Inch P65-F1 4K HDR Smart TV ($1,199) is part of Vizio's performance-focused model line, offering a step up from the midrange M-Series and the entry-level E-Series. It does.

When I played "Polaris" by Deadmau5, the audio was quite clear, even when cranked up to room-filling volume. Unfortunately, the song's complex bass line was muffled and muted due to the TV's lack of a subwoofer. The lack of bass was also felt in movies, where low rumbles and concussive explosions were markedly missing oomph. The P series uses PWM and amplitude to dim its backlight. It flickers at 960Hz. This frequency is so fast that almost no-one can notice it. It is only flicker-free when the backlight level is set at maximum (100). The Vizio P-series range in size from 55- to 75-inches. Color quality is also very good. In scenes from Spider-Man: Homecoming, the vibrant reds and blues of Spidey's suit looked very good (if slightly oversaturated), and glowing elements — like purple energy beams and a glowing jet covered in lights — looked rich and bright thanks to the HDR support. It's much cheaper than similarly excellent sets such as the Samsung Q8 and Sony X900F, and while it doesn't have their design chops or brand cachet, its image quality is just as good. I don't expect it to match the P-Series Quantum, mind you, but that thing costs as much as those "S" TVs and almost as much as 2017 OLEDs. VIZIO's top display line is the P-series Quantum and today, I'll be checking out the 65 model. The PQ65-F1 sports a 2000-nit backlight, full coverage of the DCI-P3 color gamut, HDR10 & Dolby Vision, VIZIO SmartCast, and integration with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant Like last year’s model, the new P-Series supports both HDR10 (the common standard) and Dolby Vision, HDR’s more dynamic version that uses dynamic metadata to adjust screen brightness in real time and also allows for a higher color bit-depth. Vizio claims the TV offers up to 1,000 nits of peak brightness, which is the baseline set by the UHD alliance, and a nice offset to the P-Series’ impressive local dimming. The TV doesn’t get as blazingly bright as premium models from Samsung and Sony, but it can seriously stoke the flames under the right conditions. The TV has an option to remove judder. This only works if the signal is 24p or if it comes through a Native App. When a 24p signal is coming through a 60p or a 60i source (like a cable box), the TV's option to remove judder does not work. In this case, to remove judder you must enable motion interpolation with a very low setting, so as to avoid potential artifacts. The rear inputs include an 'analog audio out' for use with wireless headphones without the need for an adaptor. Also, a 'Cable/Antenna' input is present for the TV tuner that returns with this year's model. While Smartcast is getting there, we still prefer the speedier interfaces you’ll get from Samsung and LG, and the dead-simple Roku interface on TCL’s best models. On the bright side, setup is a breeze, and the TV seems to offer more consistent Chromecast streaming from Netflix, YouTube, and others than in previous years. 3. Vizio's remote controls are a mixed bag. A year or two back, the company tried to switch entirely to smartphones and tablets, again relying on Google Chromecast and connected apps, but many people found that they still wanted a standard remote. So the company reintroduced the remote, with a slim design that sets the buttons flush with the surface and offers all of the expected channel and navigation controls.

The P Series has a much better local dimming feature that greatly improves dark room viewing as it can dim darker areas of the screen. The P Series also performs better in a bright room as it's brighter and better able to overcome glare. Motion looks smoother on the Vizio P Series 2018 thanks to the better response time, as well as an optional motion interpolation feature.Right out of the gate, let us assure you that HDR content — especially Dolby Vision fare — looks spectacular. Marco Polo offered multiple opportunities for the TV to show its mettle, from battle scenes amidst lush green hillsides and near-perfect skies, to shadowy meetings in tents around spitting flames. Another streaming treat utilizing Dolby Vision was Amazon’s Jack Ryan, which was displayed with crystalline clarity and impressive color shading in the slow moments, and cutting, white-hot explosions in the battle scenes.

The main question is whether the (non-Quantum) P-Series reviewed here is worth the extra money -- currently a couple hundred bucks -- over Vizio's own M series or TCL's 6 series. My answer is no, it's not.The SDR peak brightness is very good. The brightness of the TV is higher on smaller window sizes so highlights on darker scenes will appear bright. It is slightly better than the P Series 2017 for small windows, as it boosts their brightness rather than dimming them. Two things separate the specifications of the P series from step-down Vizios with FALD, including the M-Series and the E-Series, as well as from the step-up P-Series Quantum (only available in a 65-inch size). Those things are its number of dimmable zones and light output. Zone number is an important spec because it controls how precise the dimming can be. More zones doesn't necessarily mean better picture quality, but it usually helps. While the new features are appreciated, the interface was surprisingly sluggish in our testing. Changing picture settings, for instance, would sometimes freeze the screen, causing us to scroll past the setting we were searching for. On the input side, the P65-F1 was able to read and name some of our inputs (e.g., our Samsung Blu-ray player and Roku Ultra), but others, like our Oppo UDP-203 Blu-ray player didn’t show up. The system also doesn’t seem to know when an input is hot or cold, forcing you to page through inputs that aren’t connected. That’s a feature even our 2013 Samsung plasma mastered, so it’s notable that a 2018 TV can’t match it.

Vizio’s 2018 P-Series is a visual dynamo, providing the absolute best value in video performance from the brand yet, and arguably the best picture quality you can get for the money. We’re still slightly disappointed with Smartcast, but it gets the job done, and the return of the TV tuner is a win for everyone. The P-Series does provide one marked improvement over the M-Series and the TCL 6 series: a true 120Hz refresh rate panel, just like Sony and Samsung. It improves video processing to a level almost as good as those competitors, and also allows the option to engage MEMC (motion estimation, motion compensation), aka the soap opera effect. All of the sizes in the P-Series use higher-performance VA panels, not the IPS panel found on some sizes in previous years.Inside, the TV is loaded with some of Vizio’s best processing tech, including its Xtreme Black Engine Pro local dimming. Full-array backlighting allows for more uniform lighting across the screen than edge-lit displays, and the P-Series’ multiple dimmable zones (100 for the 65-inch, and 120 for the 70-inch), allow the TV to utilize said backlighting to create incredible contrast with minimal “haloing” around bright objects. Those 100 zones are actually fewer than the 2017 P-series we reviewed, yet contrast seems to have improved. We asked Vizio why and got this response: “Improvements to panel performance and to the local dimming algorithm have allowed for a reduction in dimming zones.” In other words, better processing. This is a beautiful looking TV, this issues are very unfortunate, let me know in the comments if you are having the same issues and if you have found a solution. Thank you

Just like the other four midpriced FALD TVs I've tested in 2018, the Vizio P series delivered an excellent overall picture, enough to earn a score of "8" in this category. It's not good enough to get a "9," however, and compared to the other LCDs in my lineup that scored an 8, I liked it slightly less overall than the Samsung Q8, the TCL and the Sony, but a bit better than the Vizio M series. Update 07/31/2018: We have received reports that there are issues with sending a 4k HDR signal from a game console including the Xbox One X and PS4 Pro. These issues appear to be isolated and we have been unable to reproduce the problem. The Vizio P Series 2018 is much better than the TCL C807. The Vizio P Series has better dark room performance thanks to the full array local dimming feature and much better black uniformity with less clouding. The P Series 2018 has better motion handling; it has a faster response time that produces less motion blur, and it can interpolate lower frame rate content up to 120 Hz. The P Series 2018 also has a better black frame insertion feature that can further improve motion clarity.

The Vizio P Series 2018 is a great TV for a wide range of different usages. It has very good picture quality, especially when viewed in a dark room due to the high native contrast ratio and great local dimming. It also has low input lag for gaming and a great wide color gamut for HDR. Unfortunately, the best picture is reserved for those directly in front of the TV as the viewing angles are bad. The Vizio P Series 2018 is good for watching TV in a bright room. The TV can get bright and can overcome most glare. It has great reflection handling, but the picture quality degrades rapidly when viewed at an angle, which is bad for wide rooms. The TV does an ok job at upscaling cable content, but you might notice some clouding. Vizio's new PQ65-F1 P-Series Quantum set is the company's premier 2018 offering. Vizio P-Series (2018) review: Great picture with 120Hz butVIZIO P-Series® 55" Class 4K HDR Smart TV | P55-F1 | VIZIOVizio's P-Series Quantum TV is here to challenge SamsungVIZIO PQ65-F1 P-Series Quantum 4K HDR Smart TV ReviewedVizio P-Series Quantum review: A more affordableVizio 65 inch P-Series Quantum Class 4K HDR TV

The Bottom Line Yes, it has an excellent picture for the money, but Vizio's P-Series is a worse value than the cheaper TCL and not "luxury" enough to contend with Sony and Samsung. CNET también está disponible en español.Note that I was unable to compare the 2018 M-Series directly to the 2018 P-Series for this review. That's because the M-Series review sample Vizio sent me developed an image quality issue before I could include it in my P-Series comparisons: the image became dark and discolored, to the point where it was unwatchable. Vizio says the issue would be covered under warranty, but did not supply an official reason yet for why it occurred (that might change in the future, once the company's engineers get a look at the faulty sample). In the meantime I'm confident in my overall comparison between the two -- I like the picture on the P-Series a little better, but not enough to be worth the price difference.Update 11/14/2019: Vizio has added support for HDR10+ on many 2019 and 2018 models. Unfortunately, we no longer have the 2018 models, so we're unable to confirm if they support HDR10+.4k @ 60Hz @ 4:4:4 HDR works for all ports except HDMI 5.Just like the M Series 2018, the P Series 2018 has dedicated ports for a shared component and composite input. The P65-F1's LCD panel features a full-array backlight with local dimming, a technology that dramatically reduces unwanted haloing. About the only thing we've seen with better backlight was the much pricier LG 55-inch C7 OLED (OLED55C7P), which has per-pixel illumination and perfect black levels.
