So today I'm here to clear up a very common question that I hear every day. And that is whether or not you should rent a two-wheel drive or a four-wheel drive in Iceland. We're going to clear it up, once and for all. All right. So, before we get started I have to talk about something that someone brought to my attention last week. I put out my first Two Minute Tip Thursday video. And I was. During high season (July) it can be crowded by Hengifoss but it is mainly just jammed with cars at the parking lot. If you don’t find a space to park you can just continue further into the valley and check the visitor’s center for Vatnajokull National Park at Skriduklaustur (5km) and then get back to see if some have moved. It's beautiful if you aren't and it really is a fun hike -- but if you're tempted and you don't mind being just a weeee bit more adventurous it is so worth the scare of possibly falling and hurting yourself on the rocks, but in no way am I telling you to be unsafe. Just go with a buddy and make sure you're prepared. It's the summer right now and I've had a cold. We went early and four hours later of deliberating which is the best route we were victorious. The experience I had during my first hike to the waterfall had left a bitter taste in my mouth and I never felt emotionally ready to go on this hike again.
